What the five yellow stars of China's flag represent?
The flag of the People's Republic of China is all red with four yellow stars and a yellow star in the upper left corner. What do they mean?
The larger star symbolizes the Communist Party of China and the four smaller stars surrounding the big star symbolize the four classes of Chinese that were considered by Mao unite in this historical moment (one of the work Mao: On the democratic dictatorship of the People), who are the workers, peasants, petty bourgeoisie (ie, Small Business Class), and the national bourgeoisie (ie, non-governmental non-Chinese businessmen). The most popular modern interpretation is the four stars represent the four most esteemed occupations by the Party Communist China, who are farmers, workers, teachers, and soldiers. An interpretation in a historical context than is the four stars represent the traditional four categories of the population in the state, who are the workers (gong,工), Farmers (Nong,农), intellectual (shi士), and employers (Shang商)
