How do I maintain a constant pressure with my air compressor?
I bought a 60 gallon compressor and cannot figure what im doing wrong. the pressure is starting to pressure regulated and very quickly the pressure losses. say for example with a cutting wheel and is regulated at 80 to 100 psi and as soon as you switch almost immediately lost pressure as if the hose is bent. I thought it was the hose, so he changed the hose and still the same deal.
What is the number of CFM of the compressor and the tools that are trying to use him? The air compressor has to pay 20-25% rather than the classification of the tool will run otherwise almost continuously, and not keeping up with the requirements of the tools. A large tank wil compensate some differences, provided they are not using the full capacity of the compressor for long periods of time. EDIT: If you can restore or repair the compressor, or get it to work satisfactorily, and it is a belt drive, you may slightly increase the production CFM changing the size of the pulley, an engine size up one size or pump compressor to increase the speed of rotation, however, lose the longevity of wear faster, and can not stray too far from the original size or engine will not sufficient torque for the pump of the compressor.
