Clock Thermometer
Movies have been made for decades - many of them involve a bomb being deactivated. When I see a scene where a bomb is deactivated 1-3 seconds before that is about to explode, I'm not impressed by the writing of scripts. If you ever write a script that includes a scene in which a pump must be turned off, the creativity will be my main goal. In my story, the bomb will have one cable. That the wire is cut and the timer will stop. Digital display timer read no less than a thousand seconds left.
My idea lacks suspense, but it contains originality. I'm sure I can write some intensity in the rest of 118 minutes of film. I have ideas for other methods of building an original sequence of events in a script. For your reading enjoyment, I present you with an extract of the thoughts in my head.
Major Davenport, permission to speak freely? "
"Can you wait Lt. Jefferson? I'm trying to defuse the "bomb".
"No sir, I do not think you can expect, sir."
"Okay, Lieutenant, go ahead."
"Major, Lord, not a bomb. That's a turkey, sir."
"What you say, Lieutenant? "
"Lord, who is a turkey, sir."
"A turkey? God, Sir, who plant a bomb inside a turkey? "
"No, Major, I mean that only a turkey. The bomb is there, next to the device that looks like an alarm clock.
"Lieutenant, I swear, you're wrong if you do clean the bathroom until it is so high from the fumes that it will take a parachute to back down! "
"Lord, I'm pretty sure, the elder, sir."
"Lieutenant, watch the meter! There are only 100 seconds before this bomb goes! "
"Lord, this is not a timer, Sir. That's a meat thermometer. The internal temperature is falling slowly, but I can say with absolute certainty that the turkey will not explode. With respect, Mr President, I suggest you call in a bomb disposal unit. "
"I have a better idea, Lieutenant Jefferson. Turn on the Stargate.
Sir? "
"You have a hearing problem, sir?"
"Sir, no sir!"
"Then why are you still standing here, Lieutenant? "
"Lord, I'm going to start the dialing sequence immediately!"
Within minutes, Lt. Jefferson has the Stargate line and open a wormhole. He calls in older Davenport, "Sir, I have established a stable connection with an uninhabited planet. "
"Good job, sir."
As the lieutenant looked at him, he realizes that something has gone terribly wrong one. The Stargate is automatically turned off, and racing to the major.
"Major, who was the turkey."
"What do you mean, Lieutenant?"
"You sent the million bucks of light years away, but the pump still here, and I think that is about to explode. "
"May God have mercy on our souls."
The Lieutenant goes to the pump, change the alarm clock to the off position. The timer goes off. The general suddenly enters the room. "Lieutenant, I was about to eat lunch I asked. The cook says he had it delivered here from the dining room. Have you seen a turkey anywhere? "
The major steps in "General, the thermometer showed that meat was undercooked it. The Lieutenant and I agreed that sending it to another planet would be the best course of action to stay safe, and sent the turkey to where can not hurt anyone. "
"Good work, Major! Lieutenant ... Jefferson is?"
"Sir, yes, General Stevens! "
"Lieutenant Jefferson, I see a promotion coming your way."
"Lord, you, Lord!"
"Lieutenant, why are you sweating?"
"Lord, I was in the vicinity of Turkey, which was about 100 degrees Fahrenheit at the time that disposed of it, General! "
"I see. Well, why not hit the showers, then and the report leading to my office in an hour for a briefing. "
The General walks away, as Major Davenport becomes the lieutenant, and with a smile in the face, says, "All's well that ends well, eh, Lieutenant?"
"Sir, yes sir!"

What can I do with used batteries?
I changed the batteries in this thing clock thermometer the other day and I was not sure what to do with the old batteries. Do I throw them away or do I recycle? I left them in the wastebasket until you find the answer.
If they are rechargeable, yes, Radio Shack is the repository of the right. If you are not rechargeable, you throw them away.
